Les Femmes? Yelle!!!

I thought instead of just posting about some boring Apple stuff or iMap updates, I’d make a slight change and post about Music.

I found a great Album – thanks to a friend – named “Pop Up” by “Yelle.” Great band with absolute great Pop sounds mixed with some electronic beats. I can only recommend this band!

Click the image above to get linked to the iTunes Store. I am not to sure if this band is available in all countries – but Germany and France for sure.

Best song is surely “Les Femmes,” as it’s remix. The original is good as well – but it’s missing some “tuney” things that make it more interesting. The best thing is, I do not understand a word of what they are saying – which makes it weird for me listening to music which I, for the first time, do not really understand. LOL. Anyway – Check it out.

Update: Official Website is Yelle.Fr – of course, in french!

Yay – Finally I Have Leopard

Yeah I know, probably not very exciting for all you guys, Leopard has been around quite a long time and many of you are already using it – but I was not one of them. It finally arrived today since Amazon didn’t have enough copies left so it took them quite a while to process through all the orders.

It’s installed – I just ordered another 1GB RAM for my mac – and the upgrade was a charm. Nothing lost, only great new things were gained. First of all, I changed the background from this ugly Aurora to the Grass background – but I am still not really happy with the outcome. i guess I have to make my own cool aqua background, since Apple didn’t want to.

In any case, I took a look at the new Developer Tools and they are really great. Now it’s real fun making apps – with the new Leopard! :-P

I guess that’s about it, what I wanted to say in this post.

iMap 2.1 Is now here (or there)

This is gonna be be the last of these fast coming updates with iMap. I am tired of it, and you are probably tired of having to download them and use those new features. :-D

iMap 2.1 is just fixing some security holes as well as a sitemap error. The LAST sitemap error I hope. I think no one will get errors with sitemaps in the future because the creation is now perfect. I have changed it so many times – that it simply must work!

Again – not just invisible things that have changed, Hans van Houtem and myself have added Dutch and German localizations.

Anyone who is interested in making localizations – go ahead and shoot me a mail.

Like always, updates are distributed via e-mails. They went out today! :-D

The New MacBooks are confirmed

The rumors on new MacBooks have been around quite a long time – and now, they are coming up again … and this time the rumors are right!

Though, before I get into the post of who confirmed what and why and when, go ahead and vote if this is rubbish or it is the naked truth:

The new MacBooks? Rumor or Truth? Vote it at Macvotes!

So let’s get it straight to the point; I am now confirming that there will be new MacBooks by January for 100%. There is nothing, well there is, that can proove me wrong – but they are coming.

De facto – everyone can say that. Nothing special about that – but yes there is a point!
I won’t go into to many details cause otherwise someone is going to get in trouble, and we do not want that.

So basically if you have a huge, a really huge company, and you want to make it all Mac, then you don’t go to an Apple Store and order some million Macs – no, you talk to an Apple Executive. They then advise you on all sorts of stuff and give you recommendations. That is kind of the way it went with this.

So there was the discussion about bringing a MacBook to every single person at this “business community” – as soon as possible. Then the Apple Executive said:

I’d suggest we wait until late January to order the new MacBooks… (BANG – he broke off)

Did he just say something wrong?

(By the way, I couldn’t remember exactly what the Apple Executive said, because it was just so shocking what came out of the Apple Executive’s mouth.)

The Apple Executive just confirmed that there will be new MacBooks by January.

Of course, the other people didn’t realize what just happened – but for a person who checks Macrumors and AppleInsider on a daily basis, it is a fact!

There you go – MacBooks in January. I think it’s to late, I want a new one right now. :-D

How the MacBooks will look and if they include the ultra-portable one – who knows! Rumors will continue.

Introducing: iMap 2.0

I am very proud to announce that iMap has been updated to version 2.0 It now includes several ground-breaking new features and eases the whole use of the Get on Google process.

So let’s talk about the new stuff. The previous updates were just made to solve some minor issues with the sitemaps. The exact wants from Google were just to inexact and so I had some problems to get the perfect sitemaps. Now I finally, at least I think, I know how Google wants the Sitemaps.

But what is new with iMap 2.0? Take a look at a full blown screenshot of the main window, by clicking here.

  • Better and more powerful Sitemaps
  • Now create Robots.txt files to counter those from .Mac*
  • Add Meta-Tags
  • Create Google Verification Files
  • Ping the Google Robots to check your Site
  • Enhanced and faster working

And the best, thing, you will not have to do all the steps all the time. You can do each thing separatley. So you could just create a sitemap, or just add meta-tags along with creating the Google Verification File.

So check your mails today and you should get a e-mail with a download link for iMap 2.0!

Now, let’s move on to the tutorials. The tutorials will be updated very soon – but I simply did not have any time yet to do so.

There are also some know issues with iMap 2.0 They are not major and most of you will not get them in any case! Take a look at them, by downloading the file. The issues are also addressed in the FAQ section.

I hope you enjoy the new iMap!
