Aftermath of Steve Jobs Keynote

Having just watched the WWDC keynote by Steve Jobs, I am somewhat shaken by all the things that Apple has brought to us. It’s actually not that much – it’s just two things that were revamped. The new iPhone, dubbed3G iPhone. It is 3G and GPS-powered, it’s thinner and it’ll be available in black and white. Also pimped is .Mac, now rebranded as MobileMe. It’s basically the same thing as before, just with some new syncing features and stuff… I won’t go to much into talking about it as you can just read all about it on the Apple website.

Though there are three things that I want to touch on:

The iPhone is all cool and looks better than ever. It’s available for just half the original price (200$). Totally rocking for new customers but those who’ve just bought the iPhone recently (like me) it’s a fucking kick in the ass. My iPhone basically has no more reselling value which is kind of sad. Though, I’ve known about the rumors so I guess I have to live with it…
.Mac was never the coolest service that Apple has made … it basically sucked. With the new features that MobileMe offers, it does become quite interesting and offers things that are worth the money. Let’s see how it’ll go in the future.
As MobileMe replaces .Mac, the question of the iDisk and the connection with iMap/iTweak remains in question. I think not much will change except for URLs but I’ll release an update for both when MobileMe becomes available.

Macworld 2008 – Live Coverage

So again, again and again it is time for the most crazy event for all Mac lovers. The Macworld 2008 is clearly one of the most hyped event ’cause most secrets from the holidays get true… Well sometimes

So this time everyone is hoping for the brand-new a MacBook which is supposed to be ultra-flat. iPhone SDK and lot’s of other things…

Update 1: iPod Touch get’s new iPhone Apps! Also, new iPhone Software Update.

Update 2: AppleTV pimped with iTunes Movie Rentals. Starting today with 100 titles (only U.S). International Renting following this year!!! Finally!!!!!

Update 3: Movie Rentals are not just in some crap quality, they are in HD. Hell Nice Apple!!!

Update 4: iTunes Store comes to AppleTV. Music can now be bought via the AppleTV.

Update 5: New AppleTV is a Software Update; available in 2 weeks! Plus, price drops from 300$ to 230$.

Update 6: New AirPort Extreme with built in 500GB HD to do wireless backing with new app: “Time Capsule.”

Update 7: Some DVD’s from Fox (and others, not said) will include iTunes compatible digital version. Great!!! HandBrake no longer needed.

Update 8: MacBook Air!!! It’s true!!!!!!! The world’s thinnest notebook. It fit’s into an envelope!

Update 9: MultiTouch Trackpad. Wow! It is soooooo thin!!!!!!!!

Update 11: Price is $1799. Shipping in two weeks.

The New MacBooks are confirmed

The rumors on new MacBooks have been around quite a long time – and now, they are coming up again … and this time the rumors are right!

Though, before I get into the post of who confirmed what and why and when, go ahead and vote if this is rubbish or it is the naked truth:

The new MacBooks? Rumor or Truth? Vote it at Macvotes!

So let’s get it straight to the point; I am now confirming that there will be new MacBooks by January for 100%. There is nothing, well there is, that can proove me wrong – but they are coming.

De facto – everyone can say that. Nothing special about that – but yes there is a point!
I won’t go into to many details cause otherwise someone is going to get in trouble, and we do not want that.

So basically if you have a huge, a really huge company, and you want to make it all Mac, then you don’t go to an Apple Store and order some million Macs – no, you talk to an Apple Executive. They then advise you on all sorts of stuff and give you recommendations. That is kind of the way it went with this.

So there was the discussion about bringing a MacBook to every single person at this “business community” – as soon as possible. Then the Apple Executive said:

I’d suggest we wait until late January to order the new MacBooks… (BANG – he broke off)

Did he just say something wrong?

(By the way, I couldn’t remember exactly what the Apple Executive said, because it was just so shocking what came out of the Apple Executive’s mouth.)

The Apple Executive just confirmed that there will be new MacBooks by January.

Of course, the other people didn’t realize what just happened – but for a person who checks Macrumors and AppleInsider on a daily basis, it is a fact!

There you go – MacBooks in January. I think it’s to late, I want a new one right now.

How the MacBooks will look and if they include the ultra-portable one – who knows! Rumors will continue.
