After having received some feedback from another developer, I went into heavily improving the backend coding of iMap. iMap has been made more stable and better working in nearly all processes. The only thing that still lacks is a stunning interface. Though that will come with version 2.6. The new version of has three main new enhancements:
- iMap now has a full helpbook that will help you in understanding the errors and getting rid of them without sending me a mail.

- iMap has now been updated to support MobileMe as well. You just have to select your option in the preference pane in iMap.
- iMaps backend has been heavily improved. One of the improvements is a complete log system. iMap now logs every action it takes. Whenever you get an error, iMap will log it. You can then mail me these logs and I’ll look into fixing the problem or helping you out.
The update is downloadable via iMap itself. If you have automatic updates set in iMaps preferences, it will automatically notify you of the update. Otherwise you can just select “Check for Updates…” from the “iMap” menu item in iMap.
Enjoy the update!

Finally we have updated iMap to version 2.3! Here is a list of what is new:
- Meta-Tags issue fixed
- Snippets window added
- A preference window added with several options:
» Choose to create your URL with or without your site folder if you publish to a folder
» Choose how often you update your sitemap
» Create Robots.txt files for or against Google
- Sparkle updating service
As always, updates will be sent out via email.
Update: A little bug-fix for the meta-tags end missing is now corrected as well. Thanks Ann for pointing that out! Thus, iMap 2.4 is already out!

News and iMap.
Long time since I last posted … but I have been extremely busy doing lot’s of unnecessary stuff (and still am busy). I haven’t really had much time to keep this site or software updated so excuse for any problems it may have caused. Same goes for the hundred unanswered emails.
I’ll try to fit it some time to work on the site and software whenever I can – but I can’t make any promises that I will do anything this or the next week!
At last, this was the bad news. Now to the good news. iMap 2.3 Betas are running well and lot’s of you are testing it quite harshly. Looking forward to any feedback. The new version should come next week – but because I am busy, this can change drastically! Though, since the beta is close to finish it will not take that long!
Same goes for iWebExpander. It’ll get the same “editing-methods” that the new iMap has and thus it will be better as well. Of course, testing first!
Pssst – A new design for the site is coming up as well!
So everyone! MacBookAir has just been released and I am actually thinking of getting one of them.
Now, iMap and iWebExpander are having some issues with the TimeOut error if you use .Mac.
The reason for this error is that .Mac is simply to slow. Thus, my software is not receiving any answer and so freezes. I’ve recommended to use a faster Internet Connection – but still, people get this error. I am also tired of answer a zillion mails about this. So – I will fix it once and for all.
I have had an update ready for quite a while – but I am planning to make a better fix. This fix will get rid of this error for 100%! So bear with me. I am planning to release the updates next week.
No need to worry!
Update: It’s solved! Updates will be sent out next week.
I have just added iMap to the Application Voting Machine called CoolMacApps. It is quite a cool thing to vote your favorite app right in the top ten.
So why don’t you vote iMap up along with all the other apps you like.
Vote for iMap (And Other Apps)
I know, it’s a short post. Nothing really to read.
