iMap Updated to Version 1.3
01 Nov '07 Filed under iMap -
There you go, I had a little error in the sitemaps that iMap produces! This made it impossible for Google to read the sitemap. There error was this little thing here:
<urlset xmlns="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
It shouldn’t be 0.9 but 0.84. Well I changed it now and the new sitemaps with iMap 1.3 should work.
Thanks Steve for pointing this bug out to me!
Please download this update! All those who have purchased iMap should have recieved a e-mail with a download link! To ensure that you will get on Google, make sure you have iMap 1.3!!!
If you did not recieve a download e-mail, then contact me right away and tell me. Paste the transaction ID into the e-mail so I can verify that you have bought iMap.
Sorry for these fast updates here ![]()

Just bought iMap. I have multiple websites on my .mac account, some published with iWeb others published to a folder then uploaded. I understand I need to create a Sitemap for each and every time I modify the sites I need to redo the process.
My question is, is there anything I need to do to an iWeb site prior to making a Sitemap to make them search engine friendly?
I read somewhere that metatags are less important then header content.
Is this something you can build into iWeb Enhancer to optimise iWeb site?

Mike,
you are right, you have to do everything all the time for everything.
well - to search engine optimze you can make sure that your site has more text. if you have to many images and no text, google cannot pick up any keywords or something. you can also try to not type in any symbols into the page names (&,%$ or such) - google doesnt really like them.
meta tags - they are just another thing for search engines. they might help or they might not. in any case, you will be recieving (well everyone) a email with iMap 2.0. iMap 2.0 will add meta-tags functionality.
