We just started a new year - 2008 for those who missed - and I am enthusiastic about doing lot’s of things. I have published quite a list in one of my previous posts - but right now I want to focus on especially one of my pieces of software.

iWebExpander is a little AppleScript based application that I made to make my iWeb Tutorials easier. Turns out that many people love it and they use it as often as they open iWeb itself. Iv’e gotten mails about some stupid AppleEvent timed out (-1702) - but I have gotten even more emails that just praise Jay’s and my easy application.

Well I’ve been on skiing holidays for the past two weeks, and I have checked the download counts today, and I was just shocked. To make it short:

12,340 people have downloaded iWebExpander!!!

Isn’t that amazing? That is about 200 downloads a day over the first two months of iWebExpander’s existence.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting iWebExpander to grow that big and I guess that now, I cannot just leave it alone - it’s a project that will continue into the future.

So, I have been working a bit on version 1.1. I’ve got several new features ready which include Haloscan Commenting, PHP Contact Forms or even a full-blown “Search & Replace” function which will be ready soon.

Oh one last thing - I am a bit shaky about the name “iWeb Expander!!!” I might change it to iWebExpander (without the space) - or even change the whole thing into something more usable.
