Very helpful tutorial. However, when a page is first loaded there is a question mark over the normal image. Once the mouse is moved over this image, the question disappears and doesn’t appear again, no matter how many times the mouse is moved over or away from the image. But the “?” reappears whenever the page is reloaded. I’m using iWeb 09 and Safari and Firefox browsers on MacBook Pro. Any suggestions?

It was clear. Thank you for instructions. One main tool I use to make sure the rollover image and normal image match is XScope… this is a ruler that lets you the dimensions needed so it looks exactly like how you want it on your webpage.

Then I enter these dimensions when using photoshop.

Hi,
I am a beginner web designer, still using iWeb to create a site for my disco company. I have been able to get the normal image to appear on the page, but it will not change when I rollover it. The link does work.
Is there a mistake in the code that I do not know about? Or am I doing something wrong.

I re-read my initial question and found it lacking. Try this angle: can i make an existing menu link (http://www.phabriq.com/phabriq/home.html) rolloverable, so that each will reveal a submenu of thumbnails?

And when that new menu is visible, can the menu links still be rolloverable (and still color changeable on rollover) and clickable?

Dude, love your blog. I think your work and your style of helping people is really rare. Thanks. That said, i have been trying to push iWeb to its limits and enjoying the ride (let me know if it’s worth a damn, if you have time).

I want to make a rollover menu that cascades (a la Flash) a slide-out thumbnail tray when moused over. I think i can do it with a snippet i found (like the rollover atop right most pages that reveals “about” under “phabriq”. But what i want to really know is, can i code this so the submenu (http://phabriq.com/home) is still clickable? in other words, is the rollover that i did for “about”, using two static graphics, the limit of that code?

Hi Max,

I love your tutorial, you have no idea how nuts I’ve been going over these rollovers and you are the only one who’s code works like it should…

Can I ask for your help though, I don’t know why this is happening, but this only applies to two of the rollovers, if you rollover on my site http://www.lunazstarr.com, the “about” or “folio” button up on the top right, the image rolls-over like it should, however when I click on either button, the image changes and it doesn’t function, the blog and contact buttons seem to do exactly what I want them too.

Can you give me some advice.

Great tutorial. HTML snippet… what a thing. I’ve coded my own pages before, but want the speed and relative simplicity of iWeb – and ease of updating! All I needed were some rollover images to really get the new design, er, rolling. I spent hours trying to figure this out, and your tutorial gave me the answer in just minutes. Why can this not be a little more obvious to iWeb newbies like me? Thanks!
