<description>Thanks for all you have done to help folks with this program. I know this is a dumb question, but here goes. I use the personal domain option in .mac -- When I enter my domain path into iMap, I use my personal domain, right? Not the web.mac.com one?

I watched the tutorial, which was great, but I couldn't figure out which times to use which address. Thank you for the help.

<description>For your first question, yes you need to change the path to what you said.

No, you do not need to reverify again. You only have to the Google stuff the very first time.

		<description>Max,

One last general question.

I have my own server.
Assuming everything is working fine, and next week I update my site.

I then use iMap, and create the site map, tags, robots, ping, then load verification file number in my site_file. Then I upload it to my server.

Do I then need to reverify with google and confirm my site map again? It makes sense that yes is the answer. Are there any steps to leave out except adding your URL to the Google Dashboard?

Thanks again,

michael

		<description>Max,

Thanks for the input This program is amazingly helpful for the less knowing ones. I also removed the site_name when submitting to google and the 404 error went away, hence only using http://www.bahiavistalapaz.com. All is verified and my sitemap is found and OK and shows 42 URLs with no errors or warnings found.

BUT!!

When changing the preferences in iMap "to have my URL without the folder "site_name" do I also remove the site_name from the "website path to sitemap!" part for the pinging of google if I assume this is telling google where to find my site map via a ping?

Thank you,

michael</description>

		<description>Michael,

I have deleted your comment from the site because I only want actual
comments there and not support queries.

In any case, yes, the site_name is the Bahia_Vista.

To get rid of the 404 errors, you need to change a preference in iMap
2.4. Go into the preferences of iMap and select to have your URL
without the folder (site_name). That should get rid of the error.

		<description>Max or anyone,

Thanks or anyones help. I am very new at this.

I have one confusion, that I know about, with what is defined as site_name. I have my own server therefore not using .mac. My web site is www.bahiavistalapaz.com. My web site file I load on the server is called Bahia_Vista. It is what I perceive as my site_name. It is one of a few files (sites) I have in my sites file on my computer. Is the site_name my Bahia_Vista file? I am confused as you mention the URL as being the domain/one of the page names, or what comes up when the domain is typed into my brownser. When I enter www.bahiavistalapa.com in a browser one does not see Bahia_Vista anywhere on the screen. If you type www.bahiavistalapa.com/Bahia_Vista it gives a 404 error. I have my server set to go to and open the master file Bahia_Vista (which contains all my site files, index.html, web page files, etc.) when one types in www.bahiavistalapaz.com. It then opens my Welcome page.

Anyone with a knowledge biscuit for me to chew on?
