We have been working on a new version of iMap that is about to be released. There are a bunch of new features and enhanced ones that all need to be tested. If anyone wants to test drive these new features and help us finish them off, then feel free to contact us at the following email address: beta@guimkie.com.
Major changes to iMap 2.7 include:
- iMap is project-based. You can now create a project for each site you have in iWeb.
- You can now verify either by uploading the HTML file or adding a meta-tag.
- Meta-Tags are being added 2x as fast with less errors.
- iMap has been localized into German. Anyone interested in localizing iMap then please contact us at the above email address.
We are expecting to push this update out to everyone by October 19th.
I have just released an update for iMap. It includes the following changes:
- “Create” button now works by hitting “Enter.”
- Addition of meta-tags occasionally failed with Google Verification files. This has now been fixed..
- Corrected “Help” menu items to include new video tutorials.
- Enhanced speed connections with MobileMe/.Mac.
If you have problems updating, let me know. Keep in mind it’s always best to run the latest version of iMap.

As promised in the previous post, I am releasing the update for iMap. This is update 2.6. I really recommend that you update to this version. It is by now the most stable and best build of iMap (well the best version is the next one … but you get the idea). The changes are listed below, but you can take a look at them through a video as well.
- The helpbook has been heavily improved. It now includes a whole documentation, FAQ as well as a written guide for the online video tutorial.
- iMaps interface buttons have been modified to get enabled/disabled according to their usage.
- Full support for MobileMe (and still .Mac)
- iMap can now be controlled via shortcuts. Read more about them in the helpbook.
Those were some of the changes that you are actually “seeing.” Here is a list of some bugs that got fixed:
- Fixed the bug with no copy/paste
- Fixed the bug where iMap failed to add Meta-Tags due to the Google Verification file.
- Fixed the bug where iMap gave the message it was not supported by the architecture.
- Fixed the bug that iMap adds the Google Verification file into the sitemap. Google Verfication, index and all other unimportant HTML files are no longer included in the sitemap.
- Many other minor bugs fixed…
I hope you enjoy the new update. Though, don’t be to happy … iMap 3 is on it’s way.

After having received some feedback from another developer, I went into heavily improving the backend coding of iMap. iMap has been made more stable and better working in nearly all processes. The only thing that still lacks is a stunning interface. Though that will come with version 2.6. The new version of has three main new enhancements:
- iMap now has a full helpbook that will help you in understanding the errors and getting rid of them without sending me a mail.

- iMap has now been updated to support MobileMe as well. You just have to select your option in the preference pane in iMap.
- iMaps backend has been heavily improved. One of the improvements is a complete log system. iMap now logs every action it takes. Whenever you get an error, iMap will log it. You can then mail me these logs and I’ll look into fixing the problem or helping you out.
The update is downloadable via iMap itself. If you have automatic updates set in iMaps preferences, it will automatically notify you of the update. Otherwise you can just select “Check for Updates…” from the “iMap” menu item in iMap.
Enjoy the update!
